I work in just about every medium, often combining more than one and/or adding collage and mixed media elements. My favorite medium is encaustic, which is made from purified beeswax, damar resin, and can have pigments added to it for color that is applied melted and each layer is heat fused.  I also work with cold wax, which has the addition of mineral spirits to keep it pliable, is mixed with oil paint and does not need to be heat fused. Both mediums have a depth and look to it like nothing else. Because encaustic has many layers and is reflective, it does not photograph well, for which I apologize.
